Lakesha Allen

Founder of Building Our Lives Together As One speaks out about mental health challenges.

MENTAL HEALTH IS REAL, LOVE YOURSELF, YOU MATTER. IF NO ONE TOLD YOU, YOU ARE WORTH IT.

REPEAT THIS OUT LOUD I AM WORTH IT I AM WORTH IT AND I LOVE ME!

Building Our Lives Together As One

Building Our Lives Together As One sends a thank you to Safia Thomas for her time, talent, and expertise she has given to BOLTAO through her determination to succeed at Adelphi University. Her personal commitment and support was incredibly generous. Her ideas, input, and enthusiasm was most helpful and assisted us in making valuable improvements to our program.

Building Our Lives Together As One

Our goal is to share and elaborate on conversation that are needed to start our healing process. Thank you for agreeing to add your experience to the growing number of individuals who want to speak and be listened to knowing that You matter, I matter, We Matter.

We are creating a library of Civic engagement, discussions about what's important to individuals like you. These discussions will be made into small series of documentaries. Having these difficult conversations are having an impact and we must continue to do more.

These conversations are focused on sharing personal stories from our lived experience (I-STATEMENTS), rather than focusing the conversation on our positions of issues. We are doing this in order to help build connections and to foster conversations that improve our understanding of one another.
